This March, in honor of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, DuClaw Brewing Company is once again joining forces with Squatty Potty to raise funds for the Colon Cancer Foundation (CCF) to help flush colorectal cancer—the second most common cancer in the U.S.
To increase awareness directly on shelves, DuClaw just dropped ‘Give a Crap’ a limited-edition sour ale, brewed with blueberry and black currant purée and vanilla bean.
Each can displays an iconic rainbow poop emoji, a QR code linking to the donation page for CCF to aid the effort of saving more lives, and six unique featured statistics to educate and raise awareness behind colorectal cancer, including these facts:
The five-year survival rate for colorectal cancer is 90% when caught at an early stage.
Adults in the U.S. have a 1 in 24 risk of developing colorectal cancer in their lifetime.
Black and American Indian/Alaska Native populations are at higher risk compared to white populations.
FIT test is nearly 80% accurate and a non-invasive stool-based screening option for colonoscopy.
Colorectal cancer is the #2 leading cause of cancer death in U.S. adults.
Regular colorectal cancer screening is now recommended for adults 45 years old and older.
